The Big-D Idaho Falls office began, in earnest, in 2013 when a project construction team with ties to Eastern Idaho was relocated to Rexburg, Idaho to manage the construction of the Central Energy Facility project at BYU-Idaho. Company leadership then discovered there were other employees from Eastern Idaho eager to pursue more work locally. In turn, Big-D encouraged their eagerness and desire to establish a presence throughout Eastern Idaho. That presence continued to grow until Big-D officially opened a regional office in Idaho Falls in 2018.
Big-D Idaho Falls is proud to offers clients the ability to work directly with a local contractor who can devote a higher level of attention to projects, typical of a smaller contractor, but who is also backed by the significant resources of a much larger firm. While the roots of Big-D Construction are ever-expanding, our Idaho Falls office takes a community-centered approach to our work. The Big-D Lindon office opened in 2005 with the focus to increase Big-D’s presence in Utah County. The Lindon office constructs a wide range of project types annually, with key market sectors being commercial buildings, higher education facilities, multi-family housing, industrial, and mining projects. Big-D Lindon is a fully self-sufficient office, able to offer comprehensive Preconstruction and Construction services, and is staffed with a Preconstruction Director, a team of estimators, and a variety of market-specific construction team members.
Building and maintaining local client relationships has always been the driving factor for the Lindon office but being local for their employees who appreciate working on projects close to home and minimizing long commutes is equally as important. Big-D Construction was founded in 1967 in Ogden. It was our original home, first headquarters, and where it all started. The Ogden office is where our company culture and core values were forged and where Big Dee and his founding leaders built a company based on equal respect for customers and employees. I-80 Logistics Center is a Class-A, modern, highly functional industrial park. Construction is phased, with the first phase of buildings measuring 305,760-sf and 283,920-sf respectively. The concrete tilt-up, cross-docked warehouse and distribution facilities have a depth of 420-ft each. Both buildings have been designed to accommodate up to six separate tenants with store-front glass at each building corner and center section. The buildings feature a minimum 32’ clear-height, ESFR fire sprinkler system, minimum 47-dock high-door positions, six grade level loading doors and a total of 65 trailer parking stalls each. The buildings can also be combined to serve a larger user with needs of up to 650,000-sf. Due to the structural engineering needs of this project, it was important to have an architectural firm with a civil root – of which AE Urbia was an optimal fit.

Sunroc is a supplier of concrete, asphalt, aggregate, masonry block, construction materials. This new facility includes three separate concrete masonry structures: a block manufacturing plant, a retail office/showroom space, and a large storage building. The Plant is an approximately 18,200-sf CMU building that included 18 kilns built out of masonry and installation of manufacturing equipment that completely automates the production of the CMU. The 4,900-sf retail building is a CMU and metal frame building that houses a showroom, dispatch office, conference room, employee break area, and administrative offices. The 4,500-sf storage shed is a CMU building with three large overhead coiling doors to store finished materials manufactured in the on-site plant. During construction, Big-D managed challenges like extensive Owner, design team, and vendor coordination to ensure proper fit for the kilns and unique weather conditions specific to that area of the Salt Lake valley which pose more frequent temperature fluctuations in both winter and summer and constant wind.
